Dear Friends,
As an organization that has focused on serving individuals with intellectual and developmental differences (IDD) for more than 70 years, we are dedicated to continuing efforts for better care, more skill-based programs, and community connection to enhance the lives of those we serve.
You may have heard about Pine Castle’s Pathways to Possibilities Campaign – a campaign in which Pine Castle embarked on a two-year journey to renovate every space on campus, develop new curriculum, launch the Pine Castle Academy, and make Pine Castle a debt-free agency. All of this was accomplished just a few weeks ago, and we couldn’t be more grateful! As we celebrate 70 years of service here in Northeast Florida, we are reminded that we can’t do it alone and must rely on the support from community-minded individuals like you.

It’s because of loyal supporters like you that we can help Jarett on his journey to community employment and help him achieve his goals.
You Can Help Adults With IDD Reach Their Personal Goals.
Let us introduce you to Jarett. Jarett began attending Pine Castle about six years ago. Since then, he has learned how to obtain transportation, interview for jobs, cook, and many other things. The programs at Pine Castle have inspired him to be the best he can be. He learned about the Wood Shop from a friend and has received all the training he needs to be an excellent worker. He also works at Publix, where he was recognized for his hard work. In his own words, his job at Publix has “changed his life.” When not working, Jarett likes to shoot hoops on the basketball court with his friends from the Wood Shop. He hopes to someday be able to compete in a tournament, but in the meantime, he is happy to practice with his friends. The Special Olympics program at Pine Castle helps Jarett to learn teamwork and much more.

Jarett is one of 75 participants who are working to reach their employment goals through Pine Castle’s Pathway to Community Employment. He and many others have the opportunity to work with our Community Employment staff and receive services like resume writing; application; and interview support; workplace accessibility and adaptations; and on-the-job skills training with regular follow-up.
