Why Buy from Pine Castle?

The Pine Castle Woodshop, in operation for over 50 years, prides itself on bringing you top-quality products while ensuring a very little-to-no-waste operation. Our talented participants on the Employment Pathway enjoy meaningful employment in our Woodshop by preparing stake orders for clients, as well as showcasing their craftsmanship through a variety of handmade designs featured in our Marketplace. That means every item you see below was lovingly cut, crafted, and painted by our participants!

Marketplace purchases from generous supporters like you help participants earn a paycheck for their hard work while advancing Pine Castle’s mission to empower individuals with intellectual & developmental differences.

Help Support Participant Creative Endeavors

Creative activities and the arts give individuals a way to express their feelings in mediums other than words. For those with intellectual and developmental disabilities, this can be especially helpful in communicating their emotions and thoughts. Research shows that there are many benefits of participating in creative activities for those with IDDs, such as improved communication and fine motor skills, increased self-esteem, increased sense of purpose, and more.

At Pine Castle, we encourage participants to fully dive into their creative passions and explore new hobbies and activities in the arts. Through on-campus clubs and adaptive activities, participants are able to express themselves in ways that feel authentic to them and build confidence in their abilities while reinforcing personal independence.

By purchasing paintings made by participants or merchandise promoting Pine Castle’s inclusive, art-focused programs, you are directly helping Pine Castle continue to provide programmatic support for our participants.
